 The World of Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft pistols come in 3 varieties - models that are electric, gas, or spring powered. Guns have always been a passion for many people, not just for self defense but for a feeling of power or even for game play. These pistols are replicas of real guns, but which do not fire real bullets, and don’t require a license to use, so can give the feel of a real gun without the danger.

Of course, you want to be careful if shooting close to somebody, and never fire near their face, or your own. BB pellets and other projectiles can hurt your eyes or damage your hearing.

Airsoft pistols are available in electric powered models which require batteries, which often must be purchased separately. Many styles mimic the design of Japanese-made guns, such as the Combat Delta Pistol, Dezart Eagle Pistol, PRO SP2340 Style Pistol, and more. These basic models are available in many varieties. The Tokyo Marui M93R AEP is an example of a higher end model which is considered to be the most accurate, it is capable of being fully automatic or firing a single shot, and can use up a standard magazine in seconds. Another high ender, the Tokyo Marui TM40 AEP, supports high capacity magazines and can include accessories such as a muzzle adapter, mock silencers, and more.

Gas powered Airsoft guns come in a greater variety of styles than electric pistols and often represent larger gun types. For example there is the simple KWA M1911 A1, which is an unassuming semi-automatic. The M93R II NS2 is a fierce looking model and includes a composite gas piston with 2-stage internal expansion chamber for efficiency in delivering gas.

If you want to play Wild West, there are several revolver-type guns that are powered by CO2. However, caution is advised with these since they shoot at a higher speed.

If revolvers aren’t your thing, then there are other versions, such as styles that replicate the German Luger, a nickel-finish Mil.-spec gun, an MP5K machine gun, and many other slick-looking pistols.

The third style of Airsoft pistols are the spring powered models, which do not require batteries or any gas to fire. Mainly they replicate revolvers and pistols, with long and shorter barrels, and generally are the most inexpensive gun replicas available. In the $25 to $50 range, some of them offer power and accuracy that is unpredicatable, but are a low cost option for beginners who want to explore the fun of playing tag or target practice using Airsoft guns.

With any gun replica that fires projectiles, it is important to keep protection in mind. With each of the Airsoft pistols, there is the option to order eye and face protection at the same time. Items such as mesh and goggle face masks are recommended.

No matter the style, or whether they are electric, gas, or spring powered, Airsoft pistols can be ordered easily online, and no gun license is necessary to buy them, unlike with real bullet firing guns.

Local laws may vary so it is always a good idea to check first, and anyone that purchases pistols of any kind must be at least 18 years old. Caution is always advised so the option to purchase protective gear is included on each product page. With so many types available, you are free to choose whatever gun suits your style, or whichever feels right to you. Whether you are new to the sport and want an inexpensive way to get in on the game, or are an experienced player, there are Airsoft pistols suitable for everyone.
