Article  Room Seven: Bedding, Clothing, and Playwear for Children Brecht Olsthoorn is the creator of Room Seven, a line of children’s clothing and bedding.  Room Seven apparel is found all over the world.  Brecht grew up watching her parents make clothing for children.  She loved helping and working with the brightly colored fabrics.  Her love of clothing and fabrics led her to pursue her own career in children’s fashion.  Brecht began her own clothing line and boutique called Room Seven.  She now has children of her own which has helped to inspire her diverse and playful clothing and bedding line.  Brecht was inspired at a young age by her mother, designer and founder of Oiliy.  Oiliy is a Dutch line of children’s clothing.  One of Brecht’s earliest memories is playing among the piles of fabric in her parent’s warehouse.  As she got older, she began cutting fabric swatches to help her mother make style books.  When Brecht graduated from college in 1994, she already dreamed of owning her own boutique.  She opened her own shop in Alkmaar, Holland.  She sold a variety of fabrics, textiles and antiques that she would purchase during her trips to India.  She still owns this shop but her love of beautiful fabrics grew.  She began making quilts from fabric pieces that she found while traveling.  She sold these quilts in her shop and she soon realized that people loved her unique and beautiful work.  At this point, she began designing entire bedding collections with her own prints.  Room Seven’s exclusive bedding collections are sold in shops and boutiques in Europe and the Netherlands. When Brecht had her baby daughter, she already had her bedding line established.  It was at this point that she got the idea to use her patterns and fabrics to make adorable and unique clothes for her baby.  This was how Room Seven began.  Brecht first introduced a line of popular nightwear and then she began designing clothing shortly thereafter. Room Seven provides a wide selection of bedding, infant and children’s clothing, and accessories.  She released two highly anticipated bedding collections per year.  She also designs an array of accessories for mothers, infant and children that include bibs, toys, and diaper bags.  Room Seven also has its own line of backpacks and school bags so that your little one can carry her school books in style.
