| Foosball, Air Hockey, Billiards and Shuffleboard Tables |
|
A
game room is an optional addition to a home that can provide hours of fun and
entertainment for the whole family, but trying to decide what to put in it can
be daunting. There are many different games to pick from and include different
skill and age levels. First thing that you will need to do when making your
decision is to take all of the opinions of the family into consideration, as
well as their age. When you have everyone’s ideas then you can make the final
decision. Gather them for a family discussion and get their input into what
they would like to have in the game room. Some suggestions can be given on the
types of games and the various choices. The following information may be
helpful in helping your family discover what games will best fit their skill
level and also complete the home entertainment room. For
an intense and high speed level of activity and competition there is the air
hockey game. These tables come in different sizes that could fit into big or
small spaces and even come in a tabletop version. The basic game play involves
a table with tiny holes from which air is dispersed to carry the puck from side
to side. The objective is to get the puck into the opponents end goal while
they try to block the point. Air hockey is extremely fun; however, they may not
be appropriate for smaller children because of the difficulty level. There are
two player game tables and four player tables, so you should take that into
consideration also. Billiard
tables are very popular in game rooms too because they are not just fun to
play, but they are also easy to customize to match the décor. The felt can be
made to match the color of your room or you can just keep the standard green,
if you like. It isn’t all about the look and beauty though, it is an extremely
fun game that most ages can play. The game involves a cue stick that is used to
hit the balls into one of the six pockets on the outer edges of the table. Many
different variations of the game can be played on a billiards table. This is
one game that can teach skills like reasoning in younger children too as they
practice bank shots because of the thought process that is involved. Similar
to the winning strategy of the billiard table, the shuffleboard tables and game
are one of the most popular choices for a standalone game. This game is fun for
all ages, although it seems that more adults enjoy it than kids. There are
small shuffleboard
tables and also larger ones, some are up to twenty two feet in length. That
would be too big for most game rooms, but the smaller to medium sized ones
would fit perfectly. There are features with shuffleboard tables, like the
bumper rails that make it easy for kids to play, as well as adults. Foosball
game tables are also available for your game room and most all ages can play.
It is a great action game that uses quick reflex action to play well. It isn’t
quite as fast paced as air hockey and not as high of a difficulty level as
billiards, so most adults and children like playing this game. The only problem
that can happen for younger children is that they can’t quite switch their
hands to another handle as fast as they need to and can put them at a
disadvantage when playing with bigger children. Foosball is a great game for
the game room, if you have mostly older children.
